Grief & Loss Therapy

Have you lost a loved one? If you are grieving a partner, parent, child, sibling, friend or pet, we can provide comfort and, eventually, healing.

Grief and Loss

Grief can feel unendurable. We’re here to help you bear it.

Do you feel wiped out by the pain of your loss? Are you unable to participate in your life, perhaps for even longer than you feel is typical after a death? Do you feel alone in your experience?

There is no right way to grieve, and no one way of working through it. Some of the pain is not only necessary, it’s a way to still feel connected to the person you’re missing. We understand that grief can show up in many ways, for many reasons. Whether you’re going through the death of a partner, parent, child, close friend or sibling, you’re probably experiencing sadness, worry, body aches, relationship problems, sleeplessness, obsessive negative thoughts and/or numbness.

As grief and loss informed professionals, we know that you might be beating yourself up or getting criticism from others for not “putting it behind you” more completely or more quickly, when what you really need is a safe place to continue thinking about, and missing, whatever it is you’ve lost. We can work together at the pace that’s right for you to come up with some new ways of moving through bereavement.

Why Work With Me?

Vicki has certifications in grief and loss and in Advanced Grief Counseling. She began her career with five years on the Los Angeles Suicide Prevention Center Hotline, so is also knowledgeable about crisis management and the specific grief that comes after suicide. Using questions that help guide you to understand more deeply what you’re missing, and tools to build new skills for tolerating and managing the loss, we can create hope for the next phase in your life, while honoring the memory of the person you’ve lost, who is still so present in your life.
